About Dental Implants
Dental implants are an effective and long-term solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth for a attractive smile. MINT dentistry is happy to offer custom-made dental implants and restorations for our patients in Fort Worth, TX to help them achieve a sexy smile that looks, feels, and works like natural teeth. A dental implant is a post that is placed in your jaw (by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to replace the missing tooth root. This post(s) can then be attached to a crown, bridge, or dentures for a restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time. If you want to restore your smile by replacing a missing tooth or teeth, make an appointment for a consultation at MINT dentistry in Fort Worth, TX. During this appointment at our state-of-the-art dental facility, you will get to know more about MINT dentistry’s mission to help our patients achieve their aesthetic goals while maintaining ideal oral health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
A leader in implant dentistry, Nobel Biocare® makes All-on-4®, a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. This process works by inserting the screws (dental implants) into strategic areas on each arch. Compared to other types of implant-supported dentures, All-on-4® offers a better fit with as few as four posts. We recommend All-on-4® implanted dentures to get a beautifully restored smile without the glues, soaking, or dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. Many MINT patients appreciate the benefits of the cutting-edge All-on-4® procedure with results that look amazing and last a long time. If you'd like to learn about the advantages of All-on-4® implanted dentures, we invite you to schedule an appointment at MINT dentistry.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants
Your dental team may use a crown, bridge, or dentures supported by implants to replace a missing tooth or teeth. You may be a good candidate for a dental implant or All-on-4® implants if you have one or more traditional restorations but are unsatisfied with dietary restrictions, maintenance, or its general appearance. During your consultation, a board-certified doctor will examine your mouth, particularly your gums and jawbone, to determine if you're able to receive an implant. You may not be a candidate for implant dentistry if you are being treated for gum disease, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.
What to Expect
At your initial implant dentistry consultation, your MINT dentistry team will make sure you do not need gum or bone augmentation. If you do, those procedures will be performed and allowed to heal before your implant procedure is done. As soon as your mouth is ready for implants, we will schedule your oral surgery to place the implant post(s). At the start of your appointment, your team will lead you back to the procedure room and allow you a chance to start relaxing in a comfortable treatment chair, where you will be given a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. When you are ready, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, the oral surgeon will make an incision(s) in your gums and place the metal post(s) into the bone. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed around the implant, leaving the post visible above the gumline. Over the next few months, the implant(s) will begin to integrate with the bone and gum. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to hide and protect the post(s). As soon as your mouth has healed, our team will attach your custom restoration to the post(s), so you can start smiling, eating, and speaking like normal.
Treatment Aftercare
Following surgery, you will likely have a bit of swelling in your gums and face along with possible discomfort, bruising, and bleeding. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but please contact us if your symptoms last too long or seem abnormal. Your doctor may prescribe pain medications and antibiotics in addition to detailed instructions, including what activities to avoid, so your recovery is smooth. When your implant(s) has healed and your restoration has been attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine, including flossing and brushing your teeth twice a day. You may be asked to schedule follow-up appointments that will allow us a chance to check and adjust your restoration. MINT dentistry suggests you continue scheduling bi-annual cleanings and annual exams to keep both your natural teeth and restorations healthy and attractive.
The MINT Commitment
While dental insurance policies differ, some of the cost of your implant placement procedure and restoration may be covered. A member of our finance team will contact your insurance to understand your coverage and calculate your out-of-pocket expenses. During your consultation with the doctor, we can discuss which payment methods our office accepts, including low-interest financing. MINT dentistry is committed to helping our patients get a healthy, beautiful smile. If you do not have insurance, ask your dentist if you are eligible for the MINT Discount Plan, which helps you fit restorative treatments like dental implants into your budget.
