About Dental Bridges
Losing a tooth or multiple teeth is more than just a cosmetic concern — dental gaps can cause other teeth to move out of alignment. This can lead to increased tension on your enamel, discomfort while chewing, or trouble speaking. A bridge restores your oral health and the appearance of your smile by covering spaces with a false tooth supported by your surrounding teeth, dental implants, or both. At MINT dentistry, our skilled team of doctors and dental professionals offers dental bridges made with the finest porcelain to restore your smile. If you are missing one or more teeth, schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry in Fort Worth, TX to learn more about restoring your smile with a bridge. Our custom dental bridges can restore your health and give you a smile that's luminous.

Best Candidates
Most of the time, people with a missing tooth believe it is only a cosmetic concern. However, there are a lot of consequences that a missing tooth or teeth can have on your oral health. The fact is, your mouth is carefully balanced and gaps from missing teeth can affect the function of your teeth and your health. Over time, a gap can cause your teeth to shift, creating dental malocclusion (a crossbite, overbite, or underbite), and atrophy in your jaw and gums. To support the restoration, your nearby teeth should be strong. You'll also need adequate strength and density in your gums and jawbone. MINT dentistry's team of professionals will check your oral health during your examination and consultation, so we can develop a customized treatment plan to help you rejuvenate your smile and health.
What to Expect
As soon as your teeth are ready for the bridge, your MINT dentistry team will take digital x-rays and impressions of your teeth so your bridge can be created. If needed, a temporary restoration can be placed while your custom bridge is being made. Once your bridge is sent back to our lab, you will come back to have your bridge put in. At the start of your procedure, you will be asked to stretch out in a massaging treatment chair. After putting on a pair of our MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones, the selected areas of your mouth will be numbed with local anesthesia to eliminate discomfort. Other anesthesia or sedation options may be added for a strong gag reflex or anxiety about the procedure. The bridge will either be cemented in place or attached to dental implants depending on the option chosen during your consultation. We will adjust the fit of the bridge for a proper fit that feels comfortable.
Treatment Aftercare
When your custom bridge is set in place, you should see an improvement in the appearance of your smile and the function of your teeth. If your teeth feel uncomfortable following the placement, you may need a follow-up. Your team will teach you how to maintain your bridge, including how to clean it. It is crucial to keep your bridge and mouth clean since cavities and buildup can still develop underneath the restoration. With proper care, your bridge should last for many years. You should continue to attend appointments at MINT dentistry for your annual dental exam and bi-annual dental cleanings. During your exams, your dentist will assess the health and wear of your bridge to help you decide if it needs to be fixed or replaced with a new custom bridge.
